Beyond the ordinary

The album 𝟮𝟭𝟭𝟮 is a concept album telling a story set in a dystopian future where a young man finds a guitar in a cave and discovers the lost art of music.

🔹️  The moment a character finds a musical instrument in the Rush song of 𝟮𝟭𝟭𝟮 occurs in the third section of the epic suite, titled 𝗜𝗜𝗜.𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆.

🔹️  Note that there is the sound of running water at the beginning of 𝗜𝗜𝗜.𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆. This could be sound associated with a waterfall - such as the one in the video 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 [👁 Feva]. I like to think that the intro to Discovery really is the sound of 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧he 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Of 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆.

▪️  What can this strange device be?

▪️  When I touch it, it gives forth a sound.

▪️  It's got wires that vibrate, and

       give music.

▪️  What can this thing be that I found?

▪️  Sounds that build high like a

       mountain, Or notes that fall

       gently, like rain.

🔹 ️ Excited by his discovery, the

       protagonist attempts to share the instrument and its music with the ruling Priests of the Temples of Syrinx, hoping they will allow people to make their own music. However, the priests destroy the instrument and dismiss his find as 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗺.
