outTHERE is a cult late-night television show that originally aired in the UK from 2001 to 2003 on Channel 5 and Bravo, with actress and presenter Emily Booth taking over as the main host for its third and final series in 2002.

 

The Show Concept.

 

The half-hour series was dedicated to showcasing the weirdest, non-mainstream media from around the globe. It featured bizarre clips spanning: Extreme Asian cinema and Kung-Fu, Low-budget horror and international B-movies, Underground animation and anime, Graphic extreme sports mishaps.

 

Emily Booth's Role.

 

The Alter-Ego:

Emily Booth hosted the third series under the fictional guise of "Eden".

 

The Style:

Dressed in cyber-punk/futuristic outfits, she delivered sharp, cheeky links between clips from a green-screen studio.

 

Succession:

She succeeded TV presenter Anneka Svenska, who hosted the first two series.

 

The Spin-Off:

Booth's popularity on outTHERE directly led to her hosting a globe-trotting spin-off series for Bravo called Shock Movie Massacre.

 

Legacy and Availability.

 

Because of its late-night timeslot and explicit, niche content, outTHERE remains a staple of early-2000s British cult television nostalgia. Complete broadcast episodes are incredibly rare and hard to find through standard streaming.
