Cultural Appropriation:
When elements of a marginalised or distinct culture are adopted by a dominant culture. The borrowed symbols often lose their original sacred or historical significance in the process.
Art & Literature:
Artists regularly utilise pre-existing images or texts, deliberately changing their meaning by placing them in a new visual context.
