First, let's recap some information concerning the machine.

Transhuman Technology.

Independant Designers exist who control powerful technology with every object in the game. Some of those objects are the players. The tech means that every player will appear to other players in some appropriate way. This kind of technology is mentioned in the science-fiction TV show Babylon 5 in association with an alien race known as The Vorlons. The tech also, of course, controls every thing you hear associated with any given player or object. Add in touch, smell and taste, and you have a system in which every player is wearing a version of the mask from the movie The Mask that controls everything about that player for itself and other players. The mask, first and foremost, is a metaphorical piece of paradigm technology that represents a complex of transhuman technology associated with every player and is usually completely or mostly invisible and intangible. In some appropriate way, we all wear A Mask at all times. You can't see it or feel it. But it's there all the same. The mask can also be thought of as a version of the faceplate worn by the alien lifeform in the movie Predator. The concept of a mask can easily be extended to a helmet.

Being human, I usually think of the technology of a L-W computer as transhuman. For aliens, you just extend appropriately. Aliens, like in the movie They Live, often mimic humans and so, from a human standpoint, can be thought of as using a version of transhuman technology.
