Beyond The Ordinary
The sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and its sequel 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984). In the sequel, astronaut Dave Bowman returns as a disembodied consciousness and tells his former wife that something wonderful is about to happen on the Jovian moon, Europa.
The Planet & The Event.
The Location:
The mysterious events center on Europa, an ice-covered moon of Jupiter, as well as Jupiter itself.
The Wonderful Event:
Highly advanced alien beings use the monoliths to turn Jupiter into a mini-sun (a star named Lucifer), which melts Europa's ice and provides the warmth needed for primitive aquatic life on the moon to evolve.
The Starchild:
At the end of the first film, astronaut Dave Bowman travels through the monolith into an alien "human zoo" where he rapidly ages and is reborn as the Star Child—the next stage of human evolution.

The Galilean moons are the four largest moons of Jupiter: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610 using one of the first telescopes, they proved that celestial bodies can orbit planets other than Earth, fundamentally changing our understanding of the universe.Each of these four celestial bodies is a fascinating, planet-sized world with highly distinct geological features:Io: The most volcanically active body in the Solar System. Its intense volcanic activity is caused by immense gravitational "tugs" from Jupiter and the other inner moons, which flex and heat Io's solid core.Europa: A slightly icy, crater-free world hiding a vast global saltwater ocean beneath its cracked, frozen crust. Astrobiologists believe Europa has conditions that could potentially harbor life.Ganymede: The largest moon in the Solar System—making it even larger than the planet Mercury. It is also the only moon known to generate its own magnetic field.Callisto: The outermost of the four, boasting the oldest, most heavily cratered surface in our Solar System. Beneath its heavily scarred exterior, it is also believed to hold a hidden ocean.
